FIBERGLASS & RESIN PRODUCTS
Why does JOSCO Products carry two types of Fiberglass Resin?
Why do you have to wait 72 hours before pouring water in a “fiberglassed” shower pan?
What is the ratio of MEK-P to resin and gel coat?
- General Purpose resin is used to repair fiberglass boats, campers and to build shower pans in new and remodeled bathrooms. Iso resin is used to make molds from which a fiberglass product is pulled. It is also used on any fiberglass product that will be kept in a water environment; such as a photographer’s developing tank. The resin is able to withstand high heat for making fiberglass product from a fiberglass mold.
Why do you have to wait 72 hours before pouring water in a “fiberglassed” shower pan?
- The answer is when you mix resin with catalyst {MEK-peroxide}, there is a chemical process that requires 72 hours to properly “cure” and combine with a fiberglass fabric to become a solid surface.
What is the ratio of MEK-P to resin and gel coat?
- One gallon of resin requires 2 ounces of MEK-P. One gallon of gel-coat require 4 ounces of MEK-P.

Are your products lint-free?
- One of the most asked questions about rags and clean room wipers regards lint free wipers. 100% lint free wipers do not exist. “Lint” is a catch-all term referring to the short, fine fibers that separate from cloth or yarn. Lint is a consequence of using fabrics to make wipers, whether those fabrics are man-made polyester or nylon, natural materials such as cotton or cellulose, or blends such as hydro-entangled polyester-cellulose. Use a fabric, and you can’t escape the presence of accompanying lint. We carry several types of cleanroom wipers— sealed edge polyester and microfibers made of nylon and polyester are the lowest linting. We do offer several low-lint wiping rag products such as white sheeting wipers and surgical towels which have two sewn edges and two selvedge edges for rag customers. If you are looking for the lowest linting wipes available in the market today, look no further! We carry the latest in low-lint wipers from a plethora of manufacturers.
